I own a Piggy. What are the differences between a Piggy and a 601 CC Cerveny?
I think they have the same bore in the tubing- is it just the bigger bell?
Thanks!

Hi-
'Body size' of a Piggy is more 3/4 size. 'Body size' of a 601 is more 6/4 size.

Do you still have the Cerveny kaiser you bought from Lee Stofer? I think the 601 and that tuba would be extremely similar.

The 691 CC I sold to a college student up in Pittsburgh and I got the Piggy from him. Mark, by body size do you mean the bugle, bows and bell throat are bigger on the 601?

Ok, thanks for the comparison! I wonder what the piggy would sound like with an 18" bell and slightly taller stack on it? Has anyone experimented with something inbetween the piggy and 601? the piggy is very resonant but I can see why folks want a slightly larger sound.

Oh. Maybe I'll just enjoy it for what is. For the orchestra I'm playing in it works fine. We'll be playing American in Paris and Copeland's Quiet City in February. Hopefully it will be recorded.
