I'm only familiar with the BB1 comparison with the 51D. In terms of rim diameter they are IDENTICAL. The BB1's rim is flatter and sharper than the 51D and the cup depth appears slightly deeper on the BB1. When I played these side-by-side, David Fedderly thought my tone sounded more centered with the BB1. But I know of other folks who found the rim of the BB1 too sharp for their taste. I would try them both and pick the best one.
