I have no idea what this is really all about, but I would probably watch it...

Neither euph nor tuba to be heard in the trailer, which has no lack of trumpet and trombones. A bit odd cobsidered the alleged main roles.

Looks like this topic died at some point before the series began airing last month. I'm going to necro it and post something that might be of interest from episode 8 which aired yesterday:

It's a Trumpet/Euphonium duet played by 2 members of the cast which plays during the end credits of a particularly emotional episode. I have it on good authority that Japanese euphonium soloists Shoichiro Hokozano and Dr. Mitsuru Saito both contributed studio time to the soundtrack of this anime, so the euphoniumist in this recording is likely one of them.

The video embedded in the OP's link has over 250,000 views. This is reaching a decent sized audience of non-musicians and is likely the most exposure the Euphonium has gotten in the mainstream outside of Western Europe, ever. If you're the type that finds anime at least somewhat tolerable, you should check out at least the first couple episodes.

You can watch it here (Japanese only with subtitles I'm afraid--it just recently started airing in Japan afterall)
