I will be graduating in June of this year (FINALLY!) and I'm just wondering what solo pieces, the standards, I should have played through by now and I'd like to add some of them to my collection. To give you an idea of where I'm at skill-wise, I was just ranked 1st chair in the MENC All-Eastern Band this past weekend.

well if you are simply looking for pieces to have in your library:
Strauss Horn Concerto No1, Gregson Concerto, Hindemith Sonate, Persichetti Seranade No.12, Vaughan Williams 6 Studies in English Folk Song. There are just a few thoughts.... many many more pieces out there....and don't I wish I owned them all.

The John Williams Jabba the Hutt theme is beyond awesome, but hard as snot. Worked on it my senior year of high school, but I still can't play it...
But by what you say, you are a wee bit better than I was...
