Does anyone know if an arrangement of Penny Lane is available for solo euphonium (treble or bass clef) with piano accompaniment? If not, are there any other Beatles solos available?
Thanks, Todd

Here's a trombone (tuba/euphonium...??) quartet version.
Perhaps, the arranger's performance isn't executed as well as it could be, but it might be a nice arrangement with strong players.
FTFY...
The arrangements, while no longer available on the arranger's webpage are still floating around.
Earlier this year, I downloaded one of his most popular arrangements, ripped it in Sibelius, dropped it a min 3rd (because that sit better with tubas and euphs, than with 4 trombones), added dynamics and fixed a the look of one of the sections.

I vote for reading it off the piano score (as mentioned above) and doing the song "When I'm 64" - I think it would be a great fit! (I'll probably get around to it one of these days myself. I've been considering it for a couple years but have had other items higher on my list.)
I THINK this one will also allow you to transpose the solo part to normal treble-clef euphonium notation. For that you have to download the music viewer. It has a very elaborate set of options for transposing and printing.

The picc solo would really be cool if you had an alto horn at your side to switch to.

I had also considered "When I'm 64" (thinking of the audience appeal) and I still might do that one as well Thanks for the help everyone, I knew I could get some great assistance here!
Sincerely,

I do have access to Alto/Tenor horns, so I may give that a try. Thanks for the idea!

J. W. Pepper might be a good resource.

There's an unaccompanied version of Blackbird that's popular, especially through the TubeNet community. It was originally done for tuba, but I've heard it done on euphonium, both in the original tuba key and transposed into higher keys.

Here is a video in which David Mason tells how he came to play the picc part in Penny Lane. At the end of the video you can for a short time actually see a manuscript of the solo as Mason plays. It appears to be in the key of D, for piccolo trumpet in A.
Here is the same story in a better video. It doesn't have the manuscript, but it does contain a pricelessly bad version of the first recording which used an English horn rather than a picc.
