Venting Valves on 4Pistons+1Rotor

Had a random thought...
Why isn't my 5th rotor valve vented when my 4 pistons are? Anyone experiment with this? Is there a reason to get this done? Is there a reason to not get this done?

I do understand the benefits/drawbacks of normal venting, but was just wondering about the 5th valves.

Both my CC and F tubas have all 4 pistons vented but the 5th valve is a rotor which is not vented. The F has the 5th valve in the lead pipe. Could that be why?

Your thoughts?

Not at all sure (or sure why people are venting all their valves -- seems to be some matter of taste there). However, ...

Virtually any fool can vent a piston valve. As proof, I've done it several times myself and it's come out perfectly fine.

Venting a rotary valve takes significantly more skill and guts. Well ... just venting it may not. But venting it correctly, and not screwing it up, and making it look nice does.
