In Kansas City? Want to play?

Post by bb4rr »

If you live in the Kansas City Area, specifically on the Kansas side, and want to play your tuba, consider joining the New Horizons Band.
The NHB is sponsored by the Johnson County Parks & Rec's Fifties plus department. As such you need to be over fifty! The band rehearses on Tuesdays from 6 to 8pm; The band's season corresponds with the academic semesters with two concerts each semester. Below is a link to the most recent concert. There is a summer session as well as the Fall/Winter and Spring.
If you are interested, access the JoCo R&R 50+ website and enroll. Here is a link: https://online.activenetwork.com/jcprd/Start/Start.asp.
Enrollment per semester is generally about $70 to cover the cost for music and the directors. Well worth every penny for the experience and camaraderie. You'll need to bring your own horn.
