well the first mpc that comes to mind is a Schilke 51D , but perhaps you should talk to your private teacher and see what he/she reccomends?

My son is liking a Schilke 51D with his YEP642S.
I can make it squawk ok also.......

Congratulations on your purchase of an excellent horn! I think you'll be very happy with the 642. I didn't know this was the horn you were considering on ebay. That's the only reason I suggested the 641 being sold here on this board.
I agree with the 51D being a good mpc on this horn. The 642 usually comes stock with the Yamaha 51 (not the 51D), so this should be close to the Schilke model. Hope you make some wonderful music.

Not trying to steal Euphoniumdudes thunder but I took a real interest in in this post ,as I just got my new Weril H980 just this past monday. I am also looking at mouthpieces for my new horn.
I have to situations to cover . I need one all purpose for the concert band and one for the super high parts that I have to play in the tuba quartet .
Any suggestions here ?

Dude/Scott,
Congrats on the new horn. I would recommend starting with a 51D since thats what you're accustomed to playing. You may want to experiment with the Denis Wick SM4 or SM3, they are both bigger than the 51D.
Once you get a chance to play the new horn I'd be very interested in your comments. Perhaps a compair and contrast to the 321 you've been playing.
Oldnerd, I didn't find any difference in the ability to play the higher notes when switching between a 6.5AL (48) and a 51D, but the tone is very different. The 6.5AL is trombone-ish compaired to the 51D. Also, I'd be very interested in your opinion of the Weril, specifically the intonation of the open partials and of the valve tubing lengths.
