Sanders Tuba Research

About 7 years ago, I purchased a Sanders CC tuba for undergrad work in college. I know that this topic has been a great debate by a few on this forum in recent years, but can anyone provide any leads at all to any information? I will say that this horn looks very similar to a Cerveny Piggy and started life as a 4 valve CC, but thanks to the previous owner and Matt Walters at Dillon Music, this horn has a 5th valve! I will post pictures and any other information tomorrow.

In college, I played a school-owned B&S PT-3 that was engraved both with the B&S logo and the word "Sanders".

Sanders was a Custom Music stencil in the 70s and 80s. No real controversy or secret. They dealt a lot of Piggys, but had other Cerveny and VMI stencils as well. Call Jeff Rideout at Custom Music International.

Along with a few B&M/Marzan models, etc. The pre-Perantucci prototypes were named Sanders because the PT brand wasn't copyrighted yet.
To stay with the OP's question, most Sanders tubas were Cervenys. We even bought Amatis from Giardinelli, then glued Sanders medallions on them. I always felt a little cheap doing that...
