Philadelphia Orch. - 3 questions

I have 3 questions about recent Philadelphia Orchestra performances:
1) Who played euphonium on the Planets last week?
2) What was the encore that Carol Jantsch played after her concerto on Friday 3/27?
3) Who played tuba on the Mahler 5?
Thanks! Both really great concerts.

EDIT: Just went back and looked at your date. Actually I was there on Thursday so perhaps it was a different encore.

Hi I was also at that performance. I can answer one of your questions. The encore she played was called "Cascades". It is on her album. It is available here:

I also would like to know who played the tuba in the Mahler 5th.
Pete

Thanks for the reply. Definitely wasn't Cascades. Much slower and kind of impressionist sounding.

3) Who played tuba on the Mahler 5?
Not sure, but Jay Krush will often get the call when they need an extra tuba.

Regarding the encore, I found the following sentence in a review of Carol Jantsch's solo written by Bernard Jacobson:
"She has the piece firmly in her fingers (which, incidentally, got an equally impressive work-out in her arrangement of Piazzolla’s Tango-Etude No. 3, played as an encore)."
