Question about Willson 3050RS CC - 5 rotary valves

Does anyone have any experience with these horns? I've heard of the 4+1 piston/rotor version, but not five rotors. I can't even find a picture of one or any information on the Willson website.
How do Rotax owners like the performance of those valves compared with "normal" rotors? I've read a couple postings on some of the manufacturing differences, but was wondering about the speed issue as it pertains to the larger valve.

Hi,
I played one at the TUSAB convention last year (not this past one) and it seemed like the best playing horn on the floor, but it also had the worst ergonomics of any horn on the floor. BUt, if it fits you , it seems like it would be a good match, but I could barely hold the thing.

What was it about the ergonomics that hung you up? I use one of Dave Fedderly's tuba stands when playing, and that seems to help. Also, I'm 6' 4", so size doesn't present much of a problem. What's your "physical configuration"?

I have played the rotor version, and agree that it plays very well. I also agree that ergonomically its terrible. I too am 6'4", but the leadpipe is so short on the rotor version that you pretty much have to hold the horn sideways to play it, and I just wasn't comfortable.

Hmmm..... Any chance of someone having one of these rotary horns out here in California that I might try?
