Finally a week after being shipped, the BAT York 91 is at the Greyhound station about an hour from my house, bad news is I work until 5 today, and then at 6 my brother has a concert, and the station/package express closes at 8 so it'll have to sit there until tomorrow. It took a week but it is finally here, my goodness I am excited.
A video will be coming probably tomorrow, hopefully, if not then it will definitely be on Wednesday sometime since I'm off that day.
I'll keep you posted,
Zac

Crisis averted. Looks like Dad is taking a personal day at work and I'll be getting the York tonight. Might have a video up tonight. Woohoo!

I'll probably post it on here, no need to make a new thread.

...Yet you haven't updated that list, ignoring some of the suggested (good) descriptions...

It is very nice that your Dad picked it up. I'm sure Lee did a good job of restoring the horn where it needed restoring. As for the list of words describing the sound of a tuba, it reminds me of a bunch of wine enthusiast who are trying to describe the flavors they think they detect in a wine during a tasting. I prefer: great, good, not so good, and you need to do a little work to help that.

So I have cheated, I apologize but I didn't start rolling a video the moment I unwrapped the horn from the packaging, but my goodness what a sound, I was going to get one last night, but I haven't really played tuba in over a week due to not really having one, so I'm going to get to community band super early tonight and get a good take of the horn. This horn is seriously the best horn I think I have ever played, the low end is absolutely rocking. I'm very excited to have community band tonight so I can see what it can do in an ensemble setting.
Should have a video up tonight, be looking for it on this thread, not gonna be playing any real music, per se, but I will be showing you what the horn can do, for the most part.
Thanks,
Zac

I'm excited to see and hear it! I can't remember, is this a three or four valve horn?

Jordan,
This is a 3 valve horn, but the false/privilege tones make it a truly remarkable instrument, just as if it were to have 4 or 5 valves, I feel like. The sound it produces is nothing like I've ever wielded before, a truly earth shaking low register, but a high register that almost sings like an F tuba or Euphonium. Intonation is pretty much perfect. I was playing in the low register last night before I was getting ready to bed and it was seriously shaking my walls, or so it felt like. I'm excited to make the video tonight, I'm going to get to community band tonight early where I'll be in a nice open room and I should be able to get a very good video. This will not be the last tuba I own, but I doubt I'll ever part with it, just because of how well it plays, it's by far the best playing tuba I've owned.

Here you go. Didn't play much, but here a little bit. I'll upload something when I have something prepared.
