12" Boosey comp Eb's

What's the consensus on these? I'm not a 3+1 fan but I found one for cheap enough to consider it.

12" seems too small for an Eb
The compensated Eb Imperials were 15"
and the Sovereigns 19"
If it is a 3+1 comp instrument with only a 12" bell it is more likely to be a Euphonium.

I think Mike is sorta correct, the only 12" compensating eb tuba I've seen was a boosey and co and over 100 years old. At that point, the copper valves were shot, the wlides needed work and a good cleaning was necessary. I wouldn't get a 12 inch Boosey and expect it to play like one of the 15 or 19 inch versons. They are both different anyways.
Watch out for high pitch conversions.

And a couple of current models are 17" bells.

Thanks guys. Baltimore Brass had one listed in good shape (no pic) for $850. I emailed them last night and found out that the horn's owner had changed his mind.
