Just saw that somehow Kirk's sousaphone ( I think it ws his favorite 4 valve silver plate Jupiter) was stolen from it's case some time during his recent trip from Malaysia to the U.S. on American Airlines or their partner airline. He got the empty case back (with TSA inspection stickers on it.)
Not going to be an easy recovery!

Re: Kirk Joseph's sousaphone stolen during travels
Oh, wow, that's really awful! I hope he gets it back! Kirk Joseph is awesome!
Maybe the airline would know something? Since it sounds like he was coming BACK from Malaysia, it was probably taken by one of the staff there, assuming he first parted with it at the baggage check. (If it has an inspection sticker, that's suspicious because the Malaysian inspectors should have been confused by an empty case if it was stolen beforehand. It could have been taken by someone transporting the luggage, but that seems less likely to me considering they try to keep the luggage under tight watch after it's been collected to prevent foul play. Also, the baggage is usually released some time after the passengers get into the pickup terminal, making a random passerby theft back in America less likely.)
(I haven't really commented on TubeNet before this , but I've heard of Kirk Joseph and was shocked when I saw this post.)

Considering they can't find an entire plane, yes it is.David Richoux wrote: Not going to be an easy recovery!

This is probably not the correct place to post this, but I've got to wonder how often something like this (a horn being stolen while flying) occurs.
I will be doing just that (traveling via air with a horn) in July, and now I'm a little concerned.....

Insurance is a given....
However, money doesn't replace a one-of-a-kind horn.

It doesn't buy happiness or bring back a loved one either.
But it don't hurt!!
