BMB Rubber Bands

Just curious. Is the draw of a 6/4 CC tuba strong enough for someone to tolerate an inferior fifth valve setup? I feel like a 4 valve setup would be cheaper and function just fine. Maybe I've never held a good one, but every BMB tuba I have played felt like it was built with reckless abandon.
