Fritz Kaenzig

Post by mbeastep »

I heard the Grant Park orchestra doing their July 4 program yesterday via WFMT on web radio. Lots of opportunity for tuba to sound great, and Fritz certainly did! I am nostalgic for those band-type patriotic programs--pieces like American Salute, National Emblem, Stars and Stripes, 1812, George M. Cohan, Gershwin Concerto in F, then some schlock. It's not quite the same in Canada. Bravo Fritz.

My teacher, Chris Blaha, was subbing in for him this summer... I'm fairly certain that wasn't him.

Oops, my mistake. He and the orchestra sounded great, though.
