"Bands without a tuba, just won't get hired! They throw money right into the bell! Saxophone, trumpet and trombone players all want to switch to tuba. Tuba players make almost double what other instrument players make."

Anyone know during what years that craze was going on?
When I lived in LA I remember reading that schools were being broken into left and right and having all their tubas stolen. And I left LA 10 years ago...
