Looks like a 3 valve F tuba. Nobody could sit through the entire movie due to intonation problems

Postman Pat's a Brit, so it's almost certainly an Eb.

But the tuba isn't silver.
Postman Pat is a fraud.

The pacing of the script is a bit slow - almost 9 minutes until the tuba is introduced!
I guess they knew their target audience, but even the enticement of the tuba factor doesn't make this a compelling work.

From someone whose first real world, money making gig as an adult was wrenching in a place named "British Auto Service" (in the 60's), I found depth and truth in the soundtrack: Whenever a vehicle was portrayed, invariably gear whine drowned out the exhaust note. Excellent job, sound designer!
