Which Is Better

Post by Dan Schultz »

This is directed to the do-it-youselfers and repair guys. NOT your typical silver vs lacquer or rotary vs silver question.

I made a trek to my neighborhool Dollar Store to replenish my supply of Dawn dishwashing liquid this afternoon only to be faced with making a decision. Dawn has been the choice of repairmen for shampooing tubas and other brass instruments for quite some time. OK... now, when I went to the shelf to pick a half dozen or so bottles I see that there are now TWO Dawns  :!: There is a new one labled "Ultra Concentrate" with "Lift Action Formula" and the old one which is now labeled "Non-Ultra". The label on the new type also reads "concentrated - use 1/3 less". OK OK OK... NOW I see that the old one is still $2 a bottle and the new "Ultra" is $3  Uh.... let's see :? ... Use 1/3rd less for 1/2 more in price.... or is there really a difference :?: Run out and get some. I eagerly await your response.
