Best recordings of 'Stuff'???
If you have played this work, what did you like/dislike...........
While I wait for the music to see for myself, does it lend itself to a certain key tuba? size?

I have not been able to find a good recording of stuff. There are maybe one or two on youtube, but I am not fond of what is there.
My professor for my undergrad and Jim are pretty close. From what has made it to me, it was intended for C tuba, though it would work on a Bb decently well. I do not like it on bass tuba because it doesn't have the depth of sound that the piece calls for.

If you are referring to James Grant's "Stuff," then I can recommend the recording on Tim Buzbee's CD "Buzzed." It is track number 9 on the CD.(check itunes and amazon, you may find the single track for sale or a deal on the CD).
I think it's written for contra-bass (BBflat or CC) tuba, and Tim plays it on a MW Baer 6/4 CC on the CD. I played it on a brass recital in college on my Nirschl York 6/4 CC. It's a fun piece, I think very audience friendly if you tell them the movements before-hand.
