ASCAP and free music from Cimarron Music Press

Post by BVD Press »

Will you, your group or your studio perform a piece from Cimarron Music Press this fall? Or even last spring? Or even in 2012 or 2013? Before 2012 might be pushing it a bit :)

If so, we are hoping the members here can help us out a bit. We are looking for these programs so we can submit them to ASCAP for performance fees. These fees help both the publisher and the composer/arranger survive. Or put another way, it allows us to bring you even more music!

Please note there will be no costs for you. The fees are paid yearly by each venue and through the ASCAP reporting system are then dispersed to both the publisher and composer/arranger. But without your help and the programs, no one receives anything.

For each program submission, we are willing to send you one free piece of music that is similar in nature to what was on the program (solo, quartet, large ensemble, etc.). Unfortunately you cannot choose which piece, but we hope you would receive something that you do not currently have in your library.

How does it work:

1. Send a PDF or JPG of a program to:

cimarronprograms@gmail.com" target="_blank

along with your mailing address

2. We will mail you a new piece at no charge

3. Have two programs? Get two pieces, etc.

A few stipulations:

1. These must be Cimarron Music Press pieces or pieces that start with a "CM" in our catalog:

2. We can only accept one program per performance so this is essentially first come first serve.

3. The programs must be from 2012 and forward.

4. This offer expires December 31, 2015.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask and most importantly if you happen to be a composer/arranger please register with ASCAP so you too can receive the fees from the performances of your pieces:
