I'm looking for a very stiff wire brush with a flex shaft to attach to my drill to remove oxidation in the tuba pipes. Would you please link me to the place or maybe somebody has a used one. Thank you , Greg.

I'm not sure what you mean by a "flex shaft" - could you possibly mean a shaft made of flexible wire?

If so, try a *real* plumbing supply (NOT the Home Despot) and ask for a boiler brush. They come in many different sizes and configurations.

I'm not so sure using an electric drill is such a good idea, unless it works at a pretty low speed. Brushing by hand should be sufficient, I would think.

Better yet, why not take the horn to a tech for a good chemical or ultrasonic cleaning?

Try your local gun store. They have nylon or brass brushes that attach to rods or flexible things for cleaning gun barrels. There should be something there that will work for you. They are relatively inexpensive.

Greg,
The item that you really need is called a "Flex Hone". Google it and look. Put some dish soap on the flex hone and hone away. Afterwards just wash it out.

To the tune of "Thanks for the Memories".

Thank you guys. The flexhone will probably work. I bought a tuba with alot of buildup in the pipes. Also I'm thinking of making any solder splats inside disappear.
