Glad you like it! I've got an Audio-Technica Pro-35cW clip-on mic taped in the bell. I found that the depth actually matters a lot. The deeper it is, the bassier it sounds, and the less potential there is for feedback. The mic feeds into an Alesis io|26 external audio interface, which is hooked up to a Macbook Pro running Ableton Live, which has a saturator, compressor, and auto-filter. The auto-filter's cutoff frequency follows an envelope that's triggered by a button press. Once the envelope starts, a metronome turns on for the drummer. I'm looking forwards to developing a solo act based around this kind of stuff. Ableton is incredibly robust when it comes to effects, looping, and automation.
