I have casually acquired a British 3/4 size Eb tuba; 3 pistons, non-compensating, some scuffing, but no major dents, all valves and slides work freely. It sounds (in my BBb hands) like a big bore euph, but the EEb down to BBnat is open and clear. Actually, it's pretty easy to blow fundamentals on it.
Stencil says W. Brown & Sons; Band Instrument; MANI-ACTURERS (I'm betting that the punch didn't do a clear "F".) Kensington Road; London.
The mouthpiece shank (G 82) is way too small for my Euro tuba leadpipe, but too big for my trombone.

Any comments on the provinence or age of this horn are welcome.

The New Langwill index says that W. Brown and Sons was active from 1911 until p.1950
