Arrangement of Hallelujah Chorus flor Quintet/Organ/Choir

Post by Z-Tuba Dude »

Anybody had experience with a excellent arrangement for brass quintet, organ & choir? If so, what arrangement?

Thanks!

There's a quartet arrangement out there by Fred Bock that works with the standard arrangements. It's OK, and you have to pull a measure out to make it work, but it does work.

Guess that really doesn't match your criteria, but it might get others thinking.

This one should work nicely. If you want to feature just the organ some then have the quintet drop out in the middle section.

We have used the Canadian Brass arrangement many times with choir and organ. It works quite well.

Is that the version that is the stand-alone quintet version (C Major), or the organ/quintet version (D Major)?

I refer to the D major organ and quintet version that is the original key of the Hallelujah Chorus.

Great! I suspected that arrangement would work well, with a choir. Thanks!

Andrew Spang of the Lyric Brass Quintet did a really nice chart in D major that works by itself, with the organ, with the choir, or both. He meant it to go wherever and work with whoever.

Andy Spang's arrangements are superb. I am not familiar with his Hallelujah Chorus arrangement but would give it serious consideration.
