The bell collar is exactly the same as the Martin Mammoth tubas. We will have some upright bells available to buy separately December.

The upright bell diameter is 19", while the forward bell diameter is 21".

The XL are nice tubas. We have just sold one to leading British military band tuba player for concert use (apparently they can use their own tubas in concert)

PS Bloke, I can't tell you exact sizes at present, as don't have one in front of me. May be able to check next week when at factory.

Neptune, when we order an XL, does that include both bells and are there cases for everything(body, upright, recording)?

Anyone played one of these? I'm a couple of days away from ordering one of the Luzerns but this is SO damn tempting. I've already pestered Jonathan and Andy with questions but I wish I could get a good idea of the sound and playing characteristics of this larger version.

I believe different size collar, but need to check. As above, the XL has Martin size collar.

Any chance of a fixed bell option?

Let me know if and when you get an upright bell that fits this Martin Mammoth!

Finally stopped talking about it and actually ordered one of these yesterday. I'll try and post some pics and specs once it arrives--maybe even an "unboxing" video ;0)
