The inaugural Bright Tuba and Euphonium Festival 2016 is a new venture organised and hosted by the Australian Tuba Quartet and the Bright Chalet. With guest artist Jim Self we are lucky and honoured to have one of the most experienced and diverse musicians in the brass world, who is one of the most recorded tubists of all time. Be involved in masterclasses, ensembles, private lessons and listening to recital performances. Located in the northern Victorian Alps, Bright is the ideal location for learning and connecting with like minded low brass musicians.
Whether you are a high school student, hobbyist, amateur, or on the verge of the profession there will be a great deal to learn and many opportunities to be directly involved in all aspects of the festival.
The festival is the vision of Tim Buzbee (Principal Tuba, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra) and Dr. Matthew van Emmerik (leading Euphonium soloist and clinician) both of the Australian Tuba Quartet.
The festival program will include:
- One-on-one lessons
- Recital performances
- Masterclasses
- Daily warm ups and Q & A sessions
- Massed tuba / euphonium ensembles
