"FAXX" Mouthpieces

Does anyone have any information on who makes "FAXX" mouthpieces? It was my first tuba mouthpiece (FAXX 18) and it's the largest one I own. It's of course a Bach look alike. They must have some form of reputation because it's been 5 or 6 years since I got that mouthpiece and they're still being sold. Plus that's the mouthpiece my school corporation's music department provided me back in 6th grade, and they don't buy crap chinese products (the only good chinese products they have are 3 Accent tubas), so like I said, they must have some form of good reputation.

Faxx is a brand owned by American Way Marketing in Elkhart, IN. They represent mostly US and European products, which are often branded for themselves or for any of their dealers who want custom branded accessories. Though some Faxx mouthpieces are made in the US, most are made in Germany by Josef Lausmann in Nauheim.

I believe Lausmann makes mouthpieces for Blessing, B&S, Getzen, Denis Wick, Helleberg, Perantucci, Canadian Brass, and Mr. P.

I'd assume Hellebergs are made directly in Conn Selmer's own factory. I don't see a reason why they'd contract it out to a third party, like Lausmann to do it. Although, as far as I know, the only 2 tuba mouthpieces Conn currently makes is the Helleberg 120S and the Helleberg 7B, so maybe they are contracted out. Denis Wick has so many mouthpieces that I doubt those are contracted out.

Your doubt is noted. :-) Helleberg and Wick mouthpieces are indeed made in Germany. Wick only does the mute spinning in the UK. If it's not Lausmann making their mouthpieces, I'm not sure who makes them. Now I can't remember who told me it was Lausmann. Maybe he did...
