Nickel plating spot

Like other Chinese horns, I have a blue/green spot on my 5th valve slide's nickel plated ring. The other dark spots on the horn I really don't care about because it is unfinished brass. This spot raises a concern because it looks to be somewhat corrosive... any thoughts to buff this out and remove it? There is a dark ring around the spot which is not quite the width of a dime.

The only bad thing will be that you may be tempted to polish the whole tuba!

The horn is covered in blemishes in the finish, so I'm not worried about it. The one spot drew my attention with the dark ring and blue color... Probably should take care of that one...

A blue/green mark around joint means a remnant of soldering flux remained in joint and has subsequently seeped out. Cleaning with metal polish will usually remove.
