Happy New Years eve from Japan. I am visiting my wife's family and while I am here I went to a low brass shop and played on some tubas and mouthpieces. I really liked theThor and the Canadian Brass Arnold Jaccob Heritage mouthpiece. I play on a Miraphone 1292 CC which they didn't have and which also takes euro shank. I looked on the Canadian Brass website and it doesn't mention a euro shank option but does mention the mouthpiece has a full shank. Will the heritage fit a Miraphone 1292 CC or will I have to buy an adaptor? Does anyone on the form play a 1292 with an Arnold Jaccob heritage mouthpiece? The guys at the shop didn't know the answer. Thank you!

My experience is that the Miraphone receivers appear to be sized to accept either Euro or American shanks acceptably, with perhaps a slight preference to Euro shanks. I have the Canadian Brass version of the PT88 and its shank appears to be the same as the PT series - they seem to fit pretty well in either Euro or American receivers.

Thanks guys for the advice. I got a hold of the horn guys and they said that the jacobs heritage mouthpiece shank is too small for the large 1292CC reciever. I thought that would be the case. Only euro shank mouthpieces fit the 1292CC reciever. With that said has anyone used the wessex adaptor on their tuba in order to fit an American shank mouthpiece to a large reciever?
Thanks you!
