How much would it cost to convert a 186 CC 5v, from the 2 whole step fifth valve to the flat whole step?

Don't do it!!

The double whole step system is much better. :)

IF you absolutely insist on making that change(what's wrong with just learning the how as is?) then my suggestin is to either order or have made a shorter slide to use in place of the current slide. That way you can always go back to the original system.

In the past I have had made longer slides to replace stock slides on fifth valves. It cost me a few hundred bucks and was worth every penny.

FWIW.. My humble opinion.

joh,

my yamaha YFB 621 has the flat whole step system. it just makes things either when switching back and forth between horns.

pfft. GUYS! Would you explain the advice you are offering?? Please ??!?!

I'm at a loss as to how a new slide (as suggested) will make a 2-whole step valve branch into a long whole step. Is there some sort of algebraic negative integer voodoo that our beloved repairers haven't told me about yet????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
He forgot to mention the tank as part of the conversion
