It's a Chinese copy of the Miraphone 1271, which is an excellent medium-size tuba.
It does not have the Miraphone's dual bore, but it's not bad for the price. I bought one nearly-new a few years ago and used it to play the contrabassoon part in the Brahms Symphony #1 without encountering any problems. Eventually I sold it to a student who was very pleased with it until he was able to obtain a King. If I had to choose between the Barrington and a Conn 5J I would pick the former. Intonation is not as good as the King, but it's manageable, in my opinion.
