Dear Tubenetters,
I came across this little Gronitz F tuba, with a bell of 29cm and a garland.
The height is 84 cm.

I never saw such a tuba, and I hope someone knows something about these?
Gronitz has said they have built little f tuba for symphony orchestras, in order to play some Cimbasso stuff on them.
Greetings,
LG

That's a cute little tuba, I'd definitely like to give it a test play

Well that's gonna be possible, I think I'll gonna move it. Should come online at the for sale topic soon.
It's recently been used for the Wodzeck part.

The Swedish dragoon band is built around 3 cavalry trumpets in Eb, så an F tuba would surprise me. The double loop at the main tuning slide rather hints towards the Eb-Tübchen.

whats the bore on this little horn? it doesnt seem to be the same as the typical Gronitz F tubas. How does it compare to your Alex F ? That would probably be the key factor in determining my interest.

For it's size it has a good full sounds, and you can lip all notes into tuning without major difficulties.
The Alex is lots bigger.
Bore I'm not sure of, it's now with someone else.
I'm thinking if selling my alex also, just to find something new.

I believe Floyd Cooley recorded his first solo album on one of these.
If I remember correctly, he said that pitch was all over the place on it.

His was a bit closer to the FZ125 (vertical tuning slide, 5th valve after the 4th). I believe the 3rd valve was tuned to 2+3 as well. Pitch on the FZ125 isn't great, but there is no other tuba that sounds as beautiful as it does.
