There have been many discussions here about which Euphonium is the best for a given price...

The MW451 was never mentioned, wwbw.com has it for $3100, unless you'd consider the b-stock lacquer for $2300. Seems like reasonable prices for a compensating horn.

Does anyone have experience playing one?

I play one and really enjoy it great sound but intonation can be tricky on some of them so try many, once you find a good one its a keeper you might also want to give the 551 a shot a little more expensive but it is the only horn on the market now that doesnt have the typical sharp upper Es and Ebs.

I have a student who got a silver 451 brand new about a year and a half ago for just over $2200. It's a great axe, and he's really on the up and up with it. I tried the 551 at TMEA this year, and although the 6th harmonics are incredibly in tune (if not flat), for the money, I think the 451 is a great bargain.
