What mouthpiece is the PT82 similar to? It was recommended and I wanted to make sure I didn't have something similar already.

I used to have a PT82. It is similar to Bach 18, but shallower, and has the 8.2 throat instead of the Bach 8.84 throat. It is designed for, and really does work well with 6/4 horns. I sold it when an instrument I used to play for some gigs departed. Great even response and great scale on a big horn. It is a little small in the cup diameter for many folks (1.28 /32.5) but for me it was exactly the right size. Because it is shallow, it can cause the low register to sound grainy on a 4/4 tuba, but on a 6/4 it really brings out the definition and articulation of the low register. The mid-sized throat really helps with breath management. Great mouthpiece for its application.
