Trying to Find 'USQMC' Records

Greetings, fellow Tubenetters!
I have a 1918 Conn BBb Helicon, and it is engraved 'USQMC'. I have contacted the US Quartermaster Museum, and have had no luck. Conn-Selmer doesn't have any records, either.
Does anyone know a site or person/contact to be able to help track down where the horn may have 'served'? What branch/base? Army, Navy, etc. I purchased it on-line, and was not disappointed. The seller didn't know about the history, and he was in the south- Georgia or Alabama if I remember right... I'm sure the number and valve block are original to the horn, and the online serial number listings indiacte 1918. Some quick figuring shows PROBABLY built the second week of November, 1918 (right near Armistice Day!)
I've had the valves rebuilt by Anderson's, and it plays great- lots of compression now, and: It's a BBb! I get alot of people asking about it! Any one have a suggestion where else to check?
Thanks! Keith Michigan
