Recently, I've been thinking about trading my BBb horn for a Eb. I used to play Eb in college and with so many new designs from different manufacturers on the market, it really is a great time to play Eb. There is one exception though....Yamaha. I know they have their Besson copies, but what about a front valved horn like the YFB-621 or YFB-822? For that matter, when was the last time Yamaha introduced a new model (regardless of key)? I know they have their somewhat new "Yamayork" but before that, what was their "new" horn? I've been following tubas for about 20 years and I can't remember one. What am I overlooking?
I don't really have a point to the post, I'm just kind of curious. Oh, anyone want to buy a Miraphone 1291 5V BBb?

Re: Yamaha tubas
The "Neo" EEb and BBb compensators are both within the last 7 years, the EEb more recent.

Agreed. The Neo is the only new model from Yamaha I am aware of as well. Mine is a 1990, so she's got a few years on her.

Re: Yamaha tubas
I've 'warmed up' to Yamaha tubas & sousas over the years and like the way they play
It would be nice if they came out with a BBb version of the 822 CC. Or maybe a piston version of the 641 rotary BBb......or a front valve version of the 321 BBb
