FOUND 6v Schiller f tuba

Folks,

I am sorry to report that my f tuba has been stolen in Nashville, TN. It is a 6 valve Schiller in the style of the Wessex Brahms which is a nearly exact copy of the Miraphone Firebird in a 4+2 setup. I do not have the serial number, but there are three telltale bb sized dents at the bottom bow near the main slide, right in series, that would make the instrument unmistakable. The horn was acquired from fellow tubenetter Brandon Bruce. If anybody sees this on Craigslist or eBay, please let me know. A police report has been filed and I hope that the horn will show up and be reunited with me. She has a beautiful singing upper register, easily managed intonation quirks, and an easily manageable low c. I REALLY want her back.

Pictures are attached. Thank you for any assistance.

Will they let you practice in the evidence room at the police station?

I had some friends at my church who work at one of the music shop in town, who tipped off my church music director, who tipped me off. The music store refused to buy the instrument because the guy looked like a basketcase slimeball under the influence of drugs and helped me out by providing a description of the guy. The police found that the tuba was in a list of items that had been pawned at a nearby pawn shop.

Many thanks to all the decent people in Nashville who helped get this straightened out.

With Mahler 1 coming up in our community orchestra, I may just have to ask the DA if they will let me practice the big frere jacques solo downtown in the evidence room. Maybe if they get too annoyed by me begging them to let me practice on my tuba, they will let me take it home sooner rather than later. But I do want to see dude's probation revoked and see him off the streets of my neighborhood for a good while.

Congrats! I'm glad you had better luck than me. My 20J was stolen 3 years ago and has not been seen since.

Again, congrats on getting your tuba back and apprehending the perp.

I was wondering what settings you have used the F in and how it responded? Did you choose it in comparison to other similar horns? Do you have any solo are ensemble video of the the instrument that you might share? Can you give me a summary of the intonation quirks these horns are well known for? The reason I ask is that I am a retiree and on a limited budget. Have you had any opportunity to try the new Schiller Elite "Frankfurt" or the Wessex "Berg"?

What is your big horn?

Thanks
Rob in NY

Not trying to bring up old posts but the horn pictured was my Big Mouth Brass BAT. It is long sold now but gives an idea of the size comparison.
