REcently someone posted about choosing an 5 valve F that matched their CC ergonomically rather than a 6 valve F. Any comments on the subject?

I've found that as I progress as a musician, my concept of sound has changed. My early teachers were heavy supporters of big dark German tubas, so the first serious tuba I bought was a MW Thor. It was a great horn, but then I tried a Getzen G-50 and fell in love with the more American sound, so I sold the Thor to get one.

The first F tuba I bought was a GDR PT-10. Again, this horn sounded great. It was easy to play throughout the entire range and it was ergonomic. A few weeks ago, though, I tried a prototype G-60. Just like with the G-50, I immediately fell in love with the sound. I just sold my PT-10 yesterday to buy one.

I guess my roundabout answer is that, for me, it's not so much about ergonomics when I'm picking a horn. It's more important that all of my horns have the sound concept I believe a tuba should convey to my listeners.
