20 J: Too big for KM tuba stand, Any suggestions?

I have acquired a bell front 20 J and it doesn't seem to fit in my KM floor stand. Does someone make a stand that will accomodate this BAT? Or is there some easy alteration I can make to this stand? Thanks. I really don't want to put it on the ground.

The "fingers" on the support arm should be bendable. I have been able to adjust my stand to accomodate a BAT, and a MW 182!

Thank you, but, it is the width of the tuba from side to side that is the issue.

That is what I am refering to.
The width of the "C" shaped "fingers" which hold the bell in place, can be bent to accomodate what ever size bell/throat you have (at least on mine, they can be).

OOps! I think that I know what you mean now!

You mean that when the
base is fully extended (width-wise), it is not wide enough?

You are correct Sir!

I'd wonder about the stability of a big BF tuba like the 20J in a K&M stand. Maybe you'd be best building one yourself.

I remember seeing a 6/4-tuba sized K&M stand for sale on the web site for either Baltimore Brass or Dillon's.

Gee! Why would you use a stand for a MW 182? As small as I am, it sits on my lap!

I believe that the K&M stand comes in 2 sizes Regular and King Size.
If you are using the regular maybe the king size will work for you.

The King sized K&M stand should work. I had the same problem with my Rudolf Meinl Bayreuth, so I ordered the large model. It fits just fine, and has velvet covered arms rather than rubber. Both Dillon's and Baltimore Brass have them advertized.

Thank you. I did not know there were two sizes.
What is a tuba pallet? There is no picture at BB. Just from the sound of it, it doesn't sound like something that is portable.
