Hey Guys,

What are your favorite orchestral pieces to play? I'm looking for suggestions of pieces that are a hoot to play, in an orchestral performance.

Strauss - Till Eulenspiegels lustiges Streiche

Mussorgsky/Ravel - Pictures at an Exhibition (with "Bydlo" played by the tuba player!)

Berlioz - Benvenuto Cellini or Le Corsaire overture (toss-up)

Holst - The Planets

Wagner - Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg overture

In addition to many of the above pieces, these are pieces from the top of my head that made rehearsals a blast (read: fun to play over and over and over):

Elgar "In the South"

Liszt "Les Preludes"

Gliere 3rd Symphony

Prokofiev "Lt. Kije"
