Need a bit of advice

Hi all,

Background:
I play on a Yamaha NEO 632 Bb (3+1)
I play in a concert band (40-60 musicians) and we are two on Tuba II
I also play as only Bb in a brass band (UK Brass Band style)

The NEO has its pros but also its cons, where the stuffy low register is the biggest issue for me.
Also I think it lack a bit personality (soul ? Song ? (As a comparison I play on a Besson Prestige Euphonium which has both))

I have start to look at Miraphone Hagen (4/4, 5/4 and 6/4) and Siegfried. But other Bb tubas are also interesting

Now to the question: If you where in my playing situation what Bb would you buy for your self if money is no issue ?

Money no issue? Buy several different models and sell the ones you don't like.

Is that the model with a cylindrical throat or is it the one which is counterbored?

The more cylindrical, the less flexible.

Stuffiness often is a matter of the player’s more or less rigid intonation not matching the pitch of the engaged tubing. Does the sound have a sweet spot?
