Dear Tubenetters,

I've been looking around for a while, and I came across this tuba. It's in " good" shape, and I could patch it up into playing condition.
It has no inscriptions at all.

I'd say it could be an old Cerveny (B&F), or another Bohemian tuba. But I'm not sure.. I've made some photo's to help you.

I cannot say for sure, but, your speculation is reasonable.

Well.... about the time I THINK I know about these horns... I discover that I know just enough to be dangerous!

The 'in' and 'out' of the valve section looks B & S 101-ish but I don't think B & S had anything to do with this one mainly because it lacks the traditional 4th valve wrap on the backside. There were many families building tubas after WW2 and they often used small parts like braces, etc. that were made by 'cottage' industries.

The horn looks sort of Cerveny/Alex/Bohland & Fuchs/etc.

Czech for almost certain.
