"Bad" Notes...

I've been curious lately about what many call "bad" or "trouble" notes. Seems like (almost) every tuba has at least one. For me, it's my 3rd partial Eb. Everything else in the 23 combination is fine, and everything else on the G partial is fine. But for some reason, 23 Eb is about 25 cents sharp. Any thoughts on this? Feel free to share similar issues. I'm not really looking for a "fix"... My 3rd valve slide is accessible and fast. I'm mainly just wondering why these things happen. Valve section? Bugle? Leadpipe? Antinodes? Is it my punishment for having a 5th valve? Feel free to discuss below.

It has to do with how the Tuba is built. I have issues with my pedal E, Middle range C#, and B natural right below middle C. I cannot remember the exact details right now but if you would like to know the exact functionality of the Tuba, read Harvey Phillip's "The art of Tuba and Euphonium Playing." Very helpful and also dives into the hidden corners of Tuba playing.
