My wife and I married in 1958 and bought a new car, a '58 De Soto Fireflite sedan complete with "stylish" rear fins. The great cartoonist, Lichty, joked about this excess of metal and referred to all finned cars of the day as "Belchfire 8's". Belchfire might be a suitable name for some tubas, or players. Yes, some do, although shouldn't late model Hirsbrunners be Peterbilts?
