amati kraslice tuba Model 1660-4

It seems to be impossible to get the down low on this horn, even though I'm now it's owner

I think that it's of good quality. I also think that it pairs best with a helleberg style mouthpiece, much to my chagrin.

It's not as shiny lately since I've been schlepping around the living room with it, but I find it to be responsive and easy to over blow. If you're not careful it just sounds like a bass trombone.

I have questions for the tuba gods; but they're hard to form at the moment. I'll be back with something less nonsensical.

The Arion is a good horn. Mouthpiece wise I would have to agree that the helleberg seems to work best with the Amati/Cerveny family of horns.

Yes on both.

It is an older (and likely better) model of this. Let me know when you get tired of it, I might be able to take it off your hands. :P
