Tuba student needed for Curtis SummerFest

Due to a last-minute withdrawal, we are looking for a tuba student to fill the single position at the Young Artist Summer Program of SummerFest at the Curtis Institute of Music. This is an intensive 3-week program that offers participants the opportunity to work with a fantastic brass faculty while preparing solo, chamber music, and orchestral performances with other high-level students. The program include private lessons, coachings, and academic classes. Everything takes place on the Curtis campus in Center City, Philadelphia.

The deadline is quickly approaching at the end of this week. Be sure to take a look at the website, and particularly at the faculty listings. Feel free to contact me directly through my own website if you have any tuba-specific questions. All questions relating to the application process should be directed directly to the SummerFest office. Due to the very last-minute nature of this announcement, I will work with the office to consider applicants based on previously-recorded audition material and/or recommendations.

Experience a taste of Curtis Institute of Music in this three-week course, featuring personalized attention from celebrated faculty. In an intimate, challenging and supportive environment, participants rehearse and perform alongside musical peers from around the globe, and select Curtis students.

Some of the offerings include:
Take weekly private instruction with Craig Knox, faculty at Curtis Institute of Music and principal tuba of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra;
Rehearse and perform chamber music;
Participate in orchestra led by three renowned conductors;
Observe master classes with celebrated brass faculty from Curtis, who also hold principal positions in the Philadelphia Orchestra;
Share your accomplishments in weekend recitals (performers are selected weekly by faculty members);
