But then again, if you dislike failing you may be in the wrong business!

I've been hearing this more and more recently. I like this article because it takes the approach of "for the experience" to mean "not fully prepared" Where do you stand on the idea of preparing an audition to *your* absolute best, but knowing that your best probably isn't going to hang with type of people who are in the audition to 'win it', example taking a full-time orchestra audition as a junior or senior in undergrad, when you're not Carol Jantsch. There has to be an awful lot of good "experience" to learn in prepping the hardest you know how at that level, dumping the resources to go take an audition, learning how to face that pressure, and failing spectacularly right?

All my life I've been told if I want something bad enough, I'll get it.
What are you, some kind of Bubble-buster??

Usually not a problem because such an individual, after submitting their CV and tape will never be invited to the audition, let alone ever get to play for only 1-2 seconds...

They should run auditions like the old Gong Show, or Showtime at the Apollo!!
I'd be Gene, Gene, the Dancing Machine.
Bloke would be Rip Taylor.
