Jack Clark, local tuba-playing luminary, recently passed away. His passion for the tuba was an inspiration for a lot of local players over the years. Each time we lose a tuba friend, we are reminded how special that instrument is as a catalyst for making friends and for social interaction. So many wonderful folk and rather exceptional minds have sported the tuba as a profession or hobby, and whether as part of their occupation or background have enriched all of our lives. Lately we have lost more tuba friends than I would like. Life is short, too short, and respecting and appreciating each other is perhaps the greatest tribute we can pay to those emeritus players who have moved on from of our little tuba circle.

I'm sure she wouldn't want to be in my obituary picture.
