1291 problems

I got my 1291 two weeks ago and when I got it the thumb ring rod was loose. Im waiting to get it repaired but its getting worse so I just took off the thumb ring so i dont put pressure on it. The settup for this thumb ring rod is very peculiar and looking at it theres almost no way to not break the weldings(unless you dont use the thumb ring) I just whanted to know if any one else had this problem or any other problems like the one person who had a post and said his slides were popping off(very strange)

Dont get me wrong I love this horn its great but the settup is very peculiar

Hi Steve! I hope you get some answers here. It is a very peculiar design. It seems to me that soldering a plate under the 5th valve lever for the thumb ring would have been a better idea, like they did with the 5XJ's.
